”The starting point for the works is often memories and sensed impressions from her immediate surroundings and daily experiences. Øksendal’s improvised expressive style is characteristic and she has experimented with a range of techniques after she graduated from the Academy of Fine Art in Oslo in 2009. Paintings are exhibited side by side with her own videos and choreographic productions. What her entire production has in common, is her interest in improvised, intuitive movements and the possibilities inherent in abstract idioms to convey a wordless but existential content.”
